Job Description

Responsibilities and Duties: 
  1. Visually inspects furnaces, machinery, and equipment for proper function.
  2. Examines machines and equipment to detect malfunctions and discusses machine and equipment operation with the Maintenance Manager or other Maintenance Technicians to diagnose problems and repair the machine/equipment.
  3. Replaces defective equipment, either by repairing broken components or replacing them with new components.
  4. Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of the machinery.
  5. Installs and repairs electrical apparatuses such as transformers, electrical, and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
  6. Assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. Repairs and replaces gauges, valves, and pressure regulators of related equipment.
  7. Performs repairs by safely using hand tools, measuring equipment, band saws, and cutting and grinding tools per the associated work instructions and equipment manuals. Performs inspection of equipment by safely using forklift and aerial lifts.
  8. Repairs and maintains the physical structure of the establishment.
  9. Repairs and maintains racking fixtures and furnace trays.
  10. Cleans and maintains parts washers per PM schedule.
  11. Repairs furnaces and equipment within a timely manner to prevent any significant downtime..
  1. Minimum one year of training or related experience in maintenance, specifically with welding and/or electrical knowledge.
  2. Must be able to complete training and obtain an RMT forklift and aerial lift license within 90 days of hire date.
  3. Must possess the ability to read and interpret documents, procedure manuals, and safety literature.
  4. Must possess significant written and oral communication skills including the ability to communicate well with others. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  5. Must possess a strong sense of time organization and urgency with the ability to work independently and within a team.
  6. Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  7. Ability to understand and interpret graph data.
  8. Open to working different shifts
